A member asked:

My last blood tests came up with egfr 70. should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No, but...: ... At your age, i would expect it to be higher. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (egfr) is a value calculated from several other blood tests, and is used to estimate kidney function. Since it is not a directly measured value, interpretation of egfr depends on the clinical situation. If you are at risk for reduced kidney function (diabetes, etc), then do a 24 hour creatinine clearance test.
