My 8 yr old son has severe armpit odor. i told him to use coast deoderant soap. my husband is furious. says deoderant causes fungus on young kids. ?

Not true: There is no correlation between deodorant soaps and fungal infections. Deodorant soaps can often cause a rash if a person is sensitive to them (mildly allergic), and unrelated, fungal infections can often cause a rash under the arms, ...But the two are not related.

Tell hubby to chill: An 8yo can have early adrenal hormone effect & start developing body odor. The management at that age should be the same as for a 15yo. A person at any age can have a skin allergy to any applied product just like they do to poison ivy, but deodorant soaps do not cause any fungal infection.
