Yes and yes but...: Turmeric is perfectly fine to take on an empty stomach but some people might have stomach upset with it, in which case you should take it with food. It can be taken raw, but is better absorbed when combined with oils & fats. Curcumin is an important component. Meriva is a patented curcumin extract which is combined with phosphotidylcholine & is up to 26 times better absorbed than plain curcumin.
