Can a meniscal tear cause achy pain in your entire leg including ankle?

Possibly: The meniscus is an intra-articular structure of the knee meaning it is contained within the knee joint. Most of the pain from a meniscal tear should be confined to the knee joint itself. However, as a result of the pain a change in the way you walk or stand may result in "secondary" pain and this may radiate into your lower leg or ankle. If pain persists it is possible you have another injury.

Yes: Due to the tear you are not walking in a normal fashion and the compensation may be putting stress on the leg and ankle.
