What causes twitching eyes?

Irritation: The most common reason for twitching of the eyes, is local irritation such as dry eyes and allergies.

Many causes : Dry eye, blepharitis, stimulant meds (caffeine, amphetamine, cocaine), neurologic causes (primary blepharospasm), any cause ofocular surface irritation.

Body stress: In addition stress, uncompensated refractive error, allergies, environmental problems, and a lack of sleep are and can be mitigating factors.
