?cerebral?: Blood flow in the brain drains through specific channels called sinuses. These sinuses have slow flowing blood that can block up and produce severe pressure and brain dysfunction. The blood within the sinuses may clog up with clotting or thrombosis. This is usually due to severe dehydration or infection that inflames the sinus tracts. Certain blood disorders such as sickle cell raise the risk.
