Anti-depressants: Anti-depressant medications have been used successfully to treat sad. There is some indication that medicines affecting the norepinephrine transmission, such as maois, wellbutrin, (bupropion) and others, may be more effective. However, other categories have also been used. Sleep deprivation has been used as a short-term intervention.
