Would be helpful: To have an evaluation by a pediatrician, including tests for immune system. The symptoms you described warrant a visit to the doctor for examination and lab tests.

Fever: It's probable that your child is suffering from a benign condition called pfapa - periodic fevers, aphthou stomatitis (canker sores in mouth), pharybgitis (sore throat) and adenitis (swollen glands. Diagnosis is by cbc, urinalysis, cultures of the throat, blood & urine. Fevers usually last 2-5 days and the child has normal growth and is fine between fevers. You'll need the pediatrician to evaluate.

Maybe, maybe not: The average 3 yo is expected to get 5-6 colds a year and many relatively normal kids get tubes. If true fever (>100.4) is documented monthly, and not just a warm forehead, additional testing might be warranted.Pediatricians often use growth pattern, development and the illness pattern to decide when testing is needed. Adults don't grow or develop,so they often have blood work with any visit
