Spitting blood: You are most likely spitting blood. The black is actually the blood that becomes oxidized as it sits in your stomach. It can indicate bleeding from somewhere in your upper GI system (throat/esophagus/stomach). Ulcers, tears, or bleeding disorders can cause it. This is not normal and requires an exam and further workup. Please contact your primary doctor for an appointment.
