Throat pain: This could be associated with many things and requires a history and physical. That said, i would query whether you have any signs or symptoms associated with gastroesophageal reflux, postnasal drip (and all its manifold causes), and any tonsillar or oro pharyngeal pathology (tonsillar hyperplasia, etc). Either way, i would recommend following up with your physician to have this figured out.

Tmj: Ask a bed partner if you grind your teeth at night as jaw joint pain is a very common cause of throat pain. Another option is gastric reflux due to stomach and bile salts coming into the throat and pharynx. A final cause could be throat dryness due to snoring.
