Old stroke: Treatment is likely based on cause and residual problems. If this was due to trauma, arterial dissection, or an embolism, the approach should vary. Some strokes are secondary to heart issues. Generically, antiplatelet drugs might be preventative if future risk, and weakness or imbalance due to the stroke could benefit from pt, ot, and speech therapy.
