Methylphenidate: Methylphenidate in most cases. Yes it is addictive, however it is not difficult to come off of. In other words, people who have stopped taking the medicine can safely come off of it without going through withdrawals.

Same meds as kids: Adhd medications are same for both children and adults. Stimulant medications like Concerta and Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) are first choice. People with adhd do not get addicted to them as they don't feel high on them. They are easy to get off. Stimulants are used as street drug 'speed' and addictive for non adhd persons. Strattera, Clonidine and Tenex are second line of drugs and cannot be abused.
