No: The older drugs are derivitives of anfetamine . The new ones Kapvay and Intuniv are not addictive.

Not usually: Its difficult to say this because there's circumstances when these they can be both. However when used properly under medical supervision they are relatively safe. Stimulants have been extensively researched for almost 40 years with longitudinal studies and show almost no detrimental effects. Look at psychiatric journals.
