Not really: Bleeding or hemoptysis occurs when a tumor erodes the lining of one of the airways or bronchi causing bleeding. This can happen in any stage of lung cancer.

No: Not necessarily. Hemoptysis may occur in early or late stage lung cancer or not at all even with advanced lung cancer. When it occurs, should have bronchoscopy to further identify the source as well as a cat scan thorax.
