See the eye MD: Not necessarily. You do need to take the eye drops to help your cornea and eye heal, but the damage may already have been done once the chemical touched the eye. Please take your drops as prescribed and follow up with your eye md.

No: Tears (or better yet an eye flush) are very important when the injury first happens. But if it has been a long time, the chemical is no longer there and the problem is from the damage it caused (stem cell loss, scarring, etc). Find a good ophthalmologist - there may be treatments.
