Autoimmune tests: These are blood tests that sometimes ordered to check for certain autoimmune diseases. They must always be interpreted in the context of a patient's symptoms. Sometimes they are positive, and have no connection to the person's symptoms. Rf is associated with rheumatoid arthritis but can also be positive in other conditions. Sm is associated with lupus; rnp w/ mixed connective tissue disease.
