Care of the elderly.: 'elder care' is a newer term for the specialized medical care of the 'older' or 'elderly' population. This population is usually age 65 or older and typically has specialized needs and multiple medical conditions. New interest in elder care is arising because of the increasing age of the american population and the increasing complexity of medical tests and treatments.
