Fritz Perls used: to say Guilt is any way I can control you and make you feel anxious doing it. Its an atypical anxiety state that you feel when you are accused of doing something you should not have done, or you didn't do something you should have. The underlying feeling you have is resentment, but that remains unexpressed as you conform to other's expectations.
