Drug delivery system: Asthma inhalers deliver drugs directly into the lungs. There are basically 2 types. Controllers which are usually cortisone type drugs which control the frequency of asthma attacks. The other is called a rescue inhaler to be used when you have an attack. Depending on the type of asthma you may need one or both types.
