Chemical eye injury: When a chemical is splashed into a person's eye, a chemical burn can occur. Whether the chemical is an acid and alkali, urgent medical attention is required. Immediate washing of the eye with copious fluid is an important first line treatment. If the chemical burn is serious, then the use of a topical antibiotic and topical steroids are often used. Amniotic grafts can be used for serious cases.
