Stuff People Ingest: By act of the us congress, dshea 1994, for anything sold as a "dietary supplement", the fda is not allowed to require the manufacturer/marketer/seller to prove their claims, either efficacy or safety. By law, dietary supplements on an "honor system" to report to the fda any problems which occur for customers over time: then the seller & fda are to work out a resolution. See: fda.Gov & nusi.Org.

Vitamins/minerals: Anything that you take other than the usual meals are dietary supplements. Many people are taking supplementary vitamins and minerals because our diets today are so artificial. God-made food contains these essential non-caloric nutrients and that is what we should be eating.
