Muscle knot shot: A trigger point is a local island of muscle spasm or muscle knot. The application of a needle with or without injectant can cause the muscle to release or relax toward normalcy.

Re: muscle: Trigger point is a taut band or nodule along muscle fibers. There are various theories regarding its cause. Once you palpate a trigger point it reproduces the pain and sometimes the pain radiates along the muscle fiber.

Stimulate TP's: Pain in buttock & thigh region reflects sciatic nerve irritation associated with spinal nerve root irritation, irritation of the pelvic neural plexus, or direct sciatic nerve irritation, such as pyriformis muscle abnormality or spasm.  treatment depends on the cause.
