Cortisone injections: The word "cortisone" is thrown around a lot to mean a steroid, but there are many different types of steroids, and not all spaghetti is the same. In general, steroid injections are used to reduce inflammation. Inflammation = pain. You reduce the inflammation, you reduce the pain. Some steroids last longer than others, but can produce side effects. Discuss which one is being used w/ your doctor.
