Antibiotics: Cellulitis is an infection of the skin. If you think you have this, see your physician since it almost always requires antibiotics. The diagnosis is usually made by noticing redness, warmth, and/or swelling of the skin. Some cases can progress rapidly, so again, call your physician.

Cellulite (no s)?: If you are referring to dimpling/puckering/cottage-cheese like appearance of the skin occurring primarily in women, then you mean cellulite. There is no widely accepted well proven treatment for this, although research is ongoing. There are studies showing temporary improvement in appearance with light/laser treatments and various topical preparations, but still experimental to my understanding.

Please clarify: Cellulitis is a serious infection of the skin. Cellulite is the appearance of dimpling on the skin, eg, the back of the thighs. Please let us know what condition is your concern so we can give a useful answer.

Laser energy: If the bands of fibrous tissue underneath the skin (connecting muscle to skin) in vulnerable areas become tight, then the fat between the muscle and the skin will bulge out -- creating dimpling. Laser energy treatments to stimulate collagen formation, tighten skin, and reduce fatty tissue followed by injections of the person's own fat to fill in the depressed areas is a cutting-edge treatment.
