A member asked:

Hi... what is the meaning of "both ovaries show multiple peripheral small cysts with dense central stroma" is this serious? 34 yrs old. female.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not worrisome: The radiology report is describing the appearance of polycystic ovaries. If you have irregular periods, problems with weight gain, acne or unwanted hair growth - then you may have polycystic ovarian syndrome. Remember that in reproductive age women (who are not on birth control)the ovary's job is to make eggs (which grow in cysts) every month and so some cysts are normal, not problematic.
