Age spots/ sun spots: These are different words to describe the same skin condition. They are also known as liver spots or solar lentigines. Caused by exposure to ultraviolet light, these flat brown, gray or black "spots" tend to occur on the face, arms, hands, back and scalp. Those with fair skin complexion, who burn easily are most susceptible. Prevention is best, with sunscreen, hats, sunglasses your key strategies.
