4-11 mos: Your baby should way at least 18 lbs in order to wear a flotation device on the boat. This could be anywhere for 4-11 months of age.

0: As soon as you can find a coast guard-approved life vest rated for your child's weight, as long as the boat is used safely, in good conditions by experienced persons, and everyone on board would be safe for the child to be with under normal circumstances (i.e. Not sick).

0 #: You may take your baby boating once baby is big enough to fit a coast guard approved life jacket. Look for the type which promote back floating, a handle, crotch strap, chest strap, and head support. Have a 'designated spotter' adult who is responsible for your baby at all times. Trade off responsibility as needed. Of course sun protection and safe boating are always recommended.
