Not Common to Take: Indinavir (crixivan) is not often prescribed in pregnancy when there are other alternatives though it is only a class c. The difficulty is that the concentrations of indinavir in the blood at weeks 30 to 32 of pregnancy often drop unpredictably which could allow the development of resistance and treatment failure, as well as mother-to-child transmission of HIV during childbirth.
