Antihistamines: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will not only stop the itching but help your son sleep.

Deet: Mosquito netting & use insect repellant around him rather than on him. Sometimes Benadryl (diphenhydramine) makes kids crazy. Avoid it. Hydrocortisone cream will help. So will cool water. Claratin (loratadine) is better than Diphenhydramine (benadryl).
