Clean, not sterilize: Mrsa is spread from person to person; bedspreads and surfaces in you home can harbor bacteria for a long time. You can not "sterilize" your home the way hospitals sterilize medical equipment. Cleaning compounds will clean surfaces, and soap and water are effective for personal hygiene.Your doctor may prescribe medications to decrease MRSA bacteria if you become infected. Pets can carry mrsa.

You can't: Mrsa is spread by contact and can be contracted over and over again. Good hand washing is best.
