I've spent some time visiting in the hospital is it worth getting tested for mrsa?

Nope.: Unless you yourself had had a MRSA infection or a close household family member has been getting MRSA infections, it's not necessary to get tested. The best thing you can do to prevent getting MRSA infections is wash your hands when in the hospital... A lot! use the antibacterial gel that they have hanging from the dispensers. And keep your hands out of your eyes and mouth. Cheers!

No: Testing for MRSA is done through nasal swab and is not a good indicator of impending problems.
