No: The tests for hashimoto's are specific to the thyroid. The test most likely to be positive is the thyroid peroxidase antibody and the next is the thyroglobulin antibody test.

Differences: Autoimmune disease is a general term to refer to multiple causes of inflammation often caused by a molecule in your body attacking some organ- such as your thyroid, pancreas, liver, or muscles. Hashimoto's disease is one form of an autoimmune disease leading to inflammation in the thyroid. In general, thyroid peroxidase antibody is a marker helpful in diagnose hashimoto's disease.
