Many: No doctor specializes in pneumonia but some doctors have special expertise in broader fields and may manage more severe pneumonia. Pulmonary -critical care physicians are specialists in lung diseases & "critical care" which involves managing patients needing life support. Infectious disease doctors are expert in complex infections. Both/ either may be involved in serious or complicated situations.
