Yes: Patients need to be seen in person. Relatives and physicians may miss signs of disease if the patient is not monitored by someone.

It can be helpful: Long-distance caregivers can assist regular caregivers. A long-distance caregiver helps from afar. They may help wi finances, paying bills, getting emergency plans & documents in order, making arrangements for in-home care providers or obtain info about assisted living facilities, act as a conduit to pass info to others.
