Many possible causes: "fatty liver" can be seen in many situations such as obesity, alcohol use, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, problems with high triglycerides. However, it can eventually lead to problem called NASH and ultimately to cirrhosis of the liver if not treated. Treatment usually involves identifying the reason for the problem and treating accordingly.
