Yes: Running can cause a bulging or herniated disc. It can also contribute to a previous herniated disc. This can cause sciatica.

It Can: If you are increasing your running recently or changed locations where your run it can cause more stress on your spine resulting in a herniated disc. After you feel better, if you plan to run again, you may want to see a sports medicine doctor that does gait/running evaluations to make sure you aren't hurting yourself inadvertently. They can help improve your running technique and prevent injury

Not really : Unless you have other pathology. It also depends on your age and other associated medical condition. Try changing your shoes that may help.
