Sampter's triad: "sampter's triad" or "triad asthma" is asthma that occurs in combination with Aspirin (or other nsaid) allergy and nasal polyps. It is believed that this condition results from an abnormal production of leukotrienes(inflammatorymediators /bronchoconstrictors). Many persons with this condition respond well to treatment with leukotriene blockers (singulair) or inhibitors (zyflo).

Samter's Triad: Samter's triad (aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease-aerd) is a chronic medical condition that consists of asthma, recurrent sinus disease with nasal polyps, and a sensitivity to aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). There are various conservative treatments, but Aspirin desensitization by an allergist has proven helpful.
