Unlikely cause: Cold sores (apthous ulcers) are often triggered by stress. Hypothetically, suffering from poorly controlled "allergies" might be stressful enough to possibly trigger an ulcer or the lack of sleep, due to chronic nasal congestion from allergies, might be physiologically "stressful", but allergies do not directly "cause" these ulcers.
