Not at 28: Height is largely genetically determined, but can be affected by many things, including diet, vitamin intake and the influence of other illnesses. Smoking may have some effects on growth, but our growth plates generally close by the end of puberty (usually 16-18) and smoking cessation after that will not have any effects.

I can't quit smoking. What will effect to me ?

Dr. Bernard Seif

Smoking: Please change your words and thinking to "I haven't quit smoking yet" rather than "I can't." Smoking is a major health problem and you lower the probability of many diseases by stopping, although life holds no guarantees. Please see a healthcare professional who helps w/smoking cessation, e.g., a clinical psychologist, your doctor, a support group. Peace and good health.

A 35-year-old member asked:

If i quit smoking will my gums turn pink?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Theodore Gross
Dentistry 40 years experience
maybe: Healthy caucasian gums are pink. Smoking decreases blood supply to the gums therefore after quitting the true nature of your gums will be revealed - if healthy they will be pink - if not they will be red and bleed more easily.
