No excessive pain: I am assuming that the cervical fusion is anterior, or from the front. Usually, patients do not report a great deal of pain after this surgery. Often, they say the pain of surgery is less than the pain of the ruptured disc that necessitated the surgery. The most common complaint relates to having a sore throat. Good luck in your surgery!

Take it easy: Take it easy and allow your body to heal. The post-operative medications are typically pain medications and muscle relaxants. Most patients do not have significant pain post-operatively. If your pain persists, notify your surgeon. Good luck. Check out spine-health.Com.
