Absolutely: Alcohol can cause brain damage at any age. Chronic use can cause psychosis characterized by anterograde amnesia (inability to form new memories), and confabulation (lying to fill in memory gaps). Withdrawal can cause seizures, hallucinations, and tremors. It can be fatal.
