Possibly: There is a genetic association for alcohol problems, thus, it runs in families. It may be that who ever molested you, was a family member with a drinking problem. I would seek help to prevent more of a full blown problem with alcoholism. Good luck.

Possibly: Having any kind of traumatic event as a child can lead someone to seek comfort in an unhealthy way (such as numbing one's feeling with alcohol or drugs)
