Quite possibly: Some parents of children who have been sexually abused have felt overwhelming guilt and self-blame that they could not protect their child. Also, a child being sexually abused is more than enough to traumatize the parent. Any of these feelings and others can be worked through safely with a trusted psychologist/therapist.
