Yes: Antabuse (disulfiram) is a medication that needs a doctor's prescription. It is not sold over-the-counter. Antabuse is used to help a person quit drinking alcohol.

Yes: People with liver problems should not use antabuse, (disulfiram) and antabuse-alcohol reactions can be serious in some people with underlying heart and other problems. A doctor needs to explain the precautions you need to take in avoiding "hidden" alcohol (medications, foods, skin sanitizers and others). See a doctor with experience with this medication. There are other (and maybe better) choices of meds.
