Safe?: Polyvinyl alcohol and polyethylene glycol are used to suspend the vitamins. In the pharmaceutical world they are the excipients used to bind the tablets or suspend the drug in a gel. The amounts in prenatal vitamins are very small and are completely safe to take in the dosage intended - one a day.
