Specializes in Psychiatry

Psychiatry consult: You may also need psychiatry and neurology consults for a closer review of these hallucinations. They can come in different modalities -- auditory, visual, tactile, olfactory, etc. Sometimes ongoing sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations. Thorough evaluation including eeg, head ct/mri, etc will help your doctors learn what's happening with you, and be able to recommend treatment.
