Please see doctor: If you have had symptoms for a month- you probably have an infection that needs treatment. You should see your health care professional. To relieve symptoms, while an antibiotic takes effect, you could use Ibuprofen or Naproxen for the inflammation and pain (with food to avoid stomach upset). Warm salt water gargle will help sooth the sore throat along with vit c lozenge. But see the doctor!

Pain- throat?: Throat pain can be symptome of an infection (most common). Sometimes resolves by itself, sometimes needs antibiotics for cure, sometimes if chronic and associated with certain germs, can produce severe joints, kidney and heart disease. Rarely, it has other causes such as tumors, especially if affecting some vicinity areas such as the ears. The ENT will examine and treat it as necessary.
