Too many to list: When a fetus accumulates excessive fluid in one or more tissues;skin, heart coverings, lungs, abdomen, amniotic fluid, the term hydrops is used. It is commonly associated with events that cause profound fetal anemia and can be on an immune basis after a viral infection or blood incompatibility. However, more than 60 non-immune disorders have been associated with the label.
