Arthritic Changes: Decadron (dexamethasone) is a steroidal anti inflammatory medication often given for exacerbations of arthritis, and it is quite effective. Unfortunately, once it is finished, the stiffness and joint discomfort will return. Non steroidal anti inflammatories can help keep the joint discomfort under control.

Not surprising: Decadron (dexamethasone) is a steroid. If it is stopped too quickly then side effects like joint pain and muscle aches may occur. Also - Decadron (dexamethasone) helps reduce these symptoms so if the dose is lowered beyond a certain point you can have the original symptoms return.
