The ball of the foot: is just behind the toes, where your toes bend. Pain in this area can be caused from many things such as nerve inpingment or neuroma, joint inflammation, a prominent metatarsal bone or the long bones of the foot. Pain can also come from lesions on the skin such as callouses or warts in this area. This area tends to be a high pressure area when you walk.
